Sorry I mean after uploading the zip, the plug in folder is in the right place. …wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics. All the plugin files in the wp-statistics are unpacked in that wp-statistics folder like normal. In the WP admin under Plugins, wp-statistics is not listed under "all". So cannot see it to activate.
I just deleted the wp-statistics folder from the plugins folder on the server. I log out and log back (bypassed cache) in to my WP site then attempted to install through the plugins page, then get a 500 internal error and get this message after reloading the page. "Downloading install package from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/wp-statistics.9.4.1.zip…
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. G:/PleskVhosts/liveoakagency.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/
Plugin install failed."

However the wp-statistics folder was not created so that's a false message.
update: well it did created the folder. I disconnected the connected to the ftp and saw the folder.
I just reloaded the plugins page and now it's listed. Mark as resolved. Thank you Greg.
